Overview
Perchloroethylene, also known as Tetrachloroethylene, is a non-flammable, highly stable chlorinated solvent primarily used in dry cleaning and degreasing applications. Its excellent solvency power makes it effective for removing oils, greases, and stains from textiles, metals, and other materials. Perchloroethylene is also used as a chemical intermediate in the production of fluorinated compounds and as a solvent in industrial formulations.
Thanks to its stability, low flammability, and ability to dissolve a wide range of organic materials, Perchloroethylene is a preferred choice for precision cleaning and industrial maintenance. However, due to its environmental and health impact, its use is regulated, requiring proper handling and disposal practices.
