Ethanolamine, commonly known as Monoethanolamine (MEA), is a versatile, colorless, and hygroscopic organic compound that combines the properties of both alcohols and amines. It is a key ingredient in a wide range of industrial applications, including detergents, gas treatment, personal care, and textile processing. MEA’s dual functionality as both a weak base and a hydrophilic solvent makes it valuable for neutralizing acidic components, solubilizing other compounds, and removing impurities from gas streams.

With its excellent emulsifying, buffering, and solubilizing properties, Ethanolamine is frequently used in the formulation of surfactants, cosmetics, and various cleaning agents. It also serves as a gas scrubber in industrial processes, effectively removing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from gas streams.
